Are Your Tires Tired? – How do you know when your tires are worn out? Usually, it’s when there’s little tread left. The tricky part is that some modern tire models don’t have much tread to begin with. So, pay attention to what they look like when new. As you chalk up the miles, check the tires for signs of wear, such as the thread from the casing starting to appear through the tread and a squaring of the tire's profile. Also inspect the sidewalls. If they start to crack or separate, it’s time for new tires. Another indicator is frequent flat tires. This usually means your tire is worn and not protecting the tube the way it should.
